The Day I Was Born Ltd was established in 2002 by Fiona and Andy Wood. While awaiting the birth of our first child we spent many hours wondering how to celebrate her arrival. We wanted to get her something uniquely Irish that would commemorate the day on which she was born. After much searching, we could not find anything suitable.
Irish keepsake box
That’s when we came up with the idea of making our baby her own unique Irish keepsake box, something she could look at in later years that would give her a snapshot of Ireland on the day and year she was born. We hoped that she would treasure her own keepsake box in the years to come and perhaps acquire an interest in her Irish heritage.
Newspapers, Belly Belts, Grobags, Hampers and more
After talking to people about our unsuccessful search for a suitable gift and showing them our ‘home-made’ keepsake box, it soon became clear that many other people also wanted to commemorate the birth or christening of their child in the same way.
We set about researching how we could produce the keepsake box for other people. After many months of research we are now able to offer others the opportunity to celebrate the birth of a child by buying them a unique
